I’m with the band: A family kind of thing

Posted on: July 10, 2012

”A man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man”  (The Godfather)

We see all types of families these days and it’s becoming more popular those whose members are non blooded related, but stand in the family’s principle of unity, love, care for each other and make up any excuse to gather around and celebrate. The 4th of July celebration was a family kind of thing.

I’ve been in and out of families since I gain the social skill of getting to know people. Some abandoned me in order to move forward with their lives, others betrayed my respect and love and some other ones just decided to disappeared, so I got used to being as the prodigal son, always returning to my blood relatives. This past two years I’ve moved around, I’ve met people and made new family members. There’s one particular kind of family that’s carved deeply into me; I like to call them The Good Vibe family.

United by our love for music and good vibrations we gather once again for the 4th of July celebration to be with our big brothers, The Jukebox. We took our place in front of the stage, so closely that I, used to be quite an observant, could hear Juanca’s heart beating like a drum, enjoy Fran’s big smile, feel Jay’s rocking energy and see Arlemar’s goosebumps past his little smile as he poured his soul for the first time as the newest Jukebox’s member. Nothing could stop The Good Vibe Family of having a good time and as good relatives, we stood by them in the pouring rain, we hugged them all sweaty backstage after the show and took photos for the already big fat family celebration album.

Making good memories it’s so important to keep the family united. In bad times, we go to those pictures or walk down through memory lane in order to ask ourselves, is it important we’re having this argument? Do I, my brother, really want to kick you out of my life?  Music is such a powerful vibe and there’s no more strong blood connection than that. All women, men and children of all races holding hands praising for more Good Vibes families such as mine. Good music and pride, it’s our family kind of thing.

PS: Along came a new addition to our Good Vibe Family. Welcome Arlemar to the puertorican Fab Four. Pretty sure you’re ‘gonna rock out your way into the fan’s hearts; make us an offer we can’t refuse. I’m merely a quite and shy observant who writes about feelings and vibes of  The Jukebox and VIVA THE KING’s  performances. Rock our world, bro. Peace!

Marvelous! I want that!

I love Music, I love JUKEBOX, I can totally relate to this article!

The Good Vibe Family. I like that. It’s what I always feel when I’m around these people, but never could put a label on it.
For me, being part of the “Family” is about sending the ripple effect of the “good vibe” to the other people there.

Always the best!!

Awesome!!!! I like it
