“ It’s gotta be rock-roll music if you wanna dance with me” (Chuck Berry)
Every good journey must start with a catchy beginning. .. “It was a hot summer night and I love the way you look tonight. How are you staring me with those undress me eyes. The way you want to do everything but talk…Our shadows on the wall and our hands everywhere…” Do I keep going? Very well… I’m just a simple girl, with a simple life, boring job and many passions to fulfill, which of course, don’t pay my bills. Writing is one of them.
“Great, how the hot summer night ended?” Well, as I said, I need it a catchy beginning and Bryan Adams ‘song seem appropriate. That said, I started writing at the age of 12 or so and those first inspirational words were poems. Pretty suck ass ones filled with vomitive pink feelings of a very naïve girl who hadn’t suffer at all. Then, life happened and the poems began to have more of a reality check fact. I went through college; learn that writing is so much more than poems. You take the responsibility of changing and creating beliefs, opinions and hearts. You get to be the voice for new talents and whoever has something to say.
I’m with the band. I get to be the voice for five talented musicians that united to tribute the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley. Although I didn’t live the 50′s it feels good writing and transporting people to their better times. Music has always being part of my life thanks to my father who adores The Beatles, Elvis and so many other great musicians. I welcome you all aboard to the rollercoaster through the 50′s and 60′s music era as seen and experience by Elvis Presley with the tribute band, VIVA THE KING. Our first stop: Kantare’s Café on February 28th at 8pm reliving the Comeback Special, the first acoustic concert ever made.
TO BE CONTINUE…
PS: And so it began… I’m merely an observer who got lucky. This column was more than fair to write in order for you get to know me and where I come from and why means so much to express my experiences as “the voice” from now on. Fasten your seat belts ’cause it’s a long way to Graceland .
